Start with the bracket or support dimensions

When a sign must fit existing hardware, measure the clear opening, overall panel size, hole locations, edge distance and available thickness. A photograph with a tape measure in the frame is useful, but a dimensioned sketch is still preferred.

For a new installation, the local installer should select hardware based on sign weight, projected area, wind conditions, wall construction and code. Decorative eyelets alone should not be assumed to carry structural loads.

Plan both sides as one project

Double-sided signs may use identical artwork on both faces or different directional information. Confirm the viewing direction before approval so arrows, room numbers and orientation remain correct after the panel is turned over.

Material and edge finish

HDU, PVC, aluminum composite and layered assemblies can be considered depending on size, thickness, exposure and attachment. A shaped edge or raised border can add character, but the sign still needs enough open space for the name to be read quickly.
