A building sign must work at the distance customers actually see it

Commercial building signs are often approved while viewed on a desktop screen, but the finished sign may be read from a parking lot or moving vehicle. Letter height, contrast, spacing and the amount of wording should be based on that real approach.

We manufacture dimensional letters, logo elements, routed panels and non-electrical building identification components. The local project team handles field measurement, code review, permits, wall evaluation and installation unless a different scope is written into the quote.

For multi-tenant properties, a consistent system is usually more effective than unrelated signs created one at a time. Building IDs, suite markers and directional panels should share typography, color and mounting logic.

Confirm the available sign area

Provide the usable width and height—not only the overall wall size. Architectural joints, trim, lighting, windows, downspouts and landlord sign bands can reduce the actual mounting area. A straight-on photograph with dimensions helps prevent a sign from being scaled to an unusable space.

Non-electrical does not mean unplanned

Even without internal lighting, a building sign may interact with exterior fixtures or raceways. Lighting location, shadows, wall color and nighttime visibility should be considered before the letter thickness and finish are selected.

Mounting and patterns

Individual letters may require a paper pattern, studs or adhesive-ready backs. A panel can simplify alignment but creates different loads and attachment points. The installer should confirm wall material, anchors, concealed utilities and local requirements.

What to include with the request

  • Building elevation or straight-on wall photograph
  • Available sign-band width and height
  • Desired overall sign size
  • Vector logo and exact wording
  • Viewing distance and road or parking-lot approach
  • Wall material and preferred mounting method
  • Quantity, deadline and shipping ZIP

When several locations are involved, identify whether every façade uses the same dimensions. Standard artwork may still require location-specific scaling.
